This invention also aims to obviate the use of buttons or pins for securing the same in place and provides improved fastening means which can be easily and quickly secured and which will hold the shirt. closely and smoothly to the body of the wearer.

The present invention is an improvement over that shown in my prior Patent SWAN issued January '21, 1-908, and is designed to overcome certain defects therein, particularly the wrinkling-of the shirt occasioned by the tying together of the ends of the; tapes which hold the inner flap of the under shirt in position when folded over across.

'VVi'th these and other objects in view it will be apparent from the following description that the invention consists of certain novel fcaturcsof construction. one preferred embodiment of which is shown on the accompanying drawing in which- Figure 1 is a view'of the'shirt with both front flaps open; Fig. 2 is a view'with the inner flap closed; and Fig. 3 is a View showing both flaps closed and'se'curely' fastened in position:

The shirt as shown on the drawings consists of a body portion comprising a back 5, an inner front flap 6 and an outer front flap 7, these flaps being,- preferably made integral with the back although it will be obvious that they may be inadc in separate pieces if found expedient or desirable. The sleeves 8 are of the usual shape and construction and may be secured to the body in the ordinary manner. The inner flap 6 which is adapted to lie'next to the chest and abdomen of the wearer is provided adjacent its free edge with a reinforcing; tape 9. A free end 10 projects laterally from the re inforcing tape midway its ends; this projecting end being either a part of the tape 5) or a separate piece secured thereto. I claim:
