Abstract

The invention relates to the field of metal forming, namely to forging hammers, and can be used at forging, broaching ingots and billets of various steels and alloys. A forging hammer comprises an anvil with a lower working tool mounted thereon, a bed, falling parts containing a ram with an upper working tool, a rod, a drive and a control mechanism. As a lower working tool a four-die forging device is used comprising a forging unit containing holders of the upper and lower dies with inclined planes and holders of side dies with inclined planes cinematically connected thereto that correspond to the inclined planes of the holders of upper and lower dies mounted with possibility of movement and connected thereto by movable rails. Four dies are fastened in the corresponding die holders, and the holder of the upper die with the upper die and the holders of side die with the side dies form movable parts of the device relative to the fixed holder of lower die with the lower die. Between the mass of falling parts of the hammer and weight of the moving parts of the forging unit a certain ratio is maintained. The holder of upper die is spring-loaded relative to the holder of lower die. The invention improves the efficiency of the process, accuracy and quality of the forgings.
