Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography, detection of genetic polymorphism of eNOS T 786 and measurement of IL-6, CRP and osteocalcin concentration. The fracture healing may be predicted if homozygous carrier status of 786-TT is revealed and the level of IL-6 is 3.3-8.8 ng/l, CRP is 1.7-5.2 mg/l and osteocalcin is 17.2-38.0 ng/ml.
