Abstract
A method for predicting fracture healing comprises clinical examination, radiography, detection of genetic polymorphism of MTHFR C677T, eNOS T 786 and measurement of IL-6 and osteocalcin concentration. The fracture healing may be predicted if heterozygous carrier status of 677-CT and homozygous carrier status of 786-TT are revealed and the level of IL-6 is 6.3-8.8 ng/l and that of osteocalcin is 17.2-38.0 ng/ml.
