A method of processing solid waste, in which thermal treatment of material is carried out, post-combustion of components with removal of gaseous products and residues of thermal treatment and collection of resulting products. In the case the prepared waste is first fed to a combustion chamber followed by burning of a combustible part in an oxidizing atmosphere. The temperature in the combustion chamber is maintained at a predetermined level due to the heat released by burning waste and heat, which is introduced with heated combustion air, after which the gases are fed into a post-combustion chamber, with postburning flammable substances contained in the gases. After the post-combustion chamber the gases are fed into a catalytic unit, during passage through which complex stable compounds are destroyed and simple and stable compounds are formed, and after the catalytic unit the gases pass through a stage I of economizer, a recuperator and a stage II of economizer.
