Abstract

A waste incinerator and incineration method for suppressing harmful material and cornbusting wastes in a low air proportion is provided. The incinerator (1) includes a combustion chamber (2) for combusting wastes moved on a grate, a primary gas unit (FABU) blowing a primary combustion gas (A) from a lower side of the grate into the chamber, and a hot gas unit (HGBU) having holes (13) for blowing a hot gas (B) downwardly from a position remote upwardly from the grate by 1 m to 3 min the chamber to an arbitrary part ranging from a combustion initiation region to a main combustion region in the chamber. The blowing hot gas forms a planar combustion region for wastes by suppressing an upward flow of a combustion gas containing a flammable gas from wastes and by providing stagnation or circulation of the hot and combustion gases above wastes on the grate.
