A process for the preparation of double potassium-iron (III) triorthophosphate comprises the use of a melt of mechanical mixture of polycrystalline substances. The mechanical mixture of KPOand NHHPOis grounded in agate mortar to homogeneous state. The prepared mechanical mixture is calcined in platinum crucible at certain temperature for 1 hour. The melt is saturated at stirring with potassium fluoride and kept at certain temperature for 1 hour. After that the melt is saturated with iron oxide, kept for 2 hours at certain temperature, stirred and crystallized by temperature decreasing. The produced single crystals of double potassium-iron triorthophosphate KFe(PO)of yellow color are washed and dried at room temperature.
