有利的是：若數位內容係一視訊檔案，其非為可攜式媒體播放器所原本支援之一視訊格式，轉換模組係轉碼該視訊檔案為可攜式媒體播放器所原本支援之一視訊格式。

基於檔案夾的數位內容之播放係不受限於僅為該內容所複製至播放器20之順序或是內容之字母順序。除了視訊檔案40之運用，系統10係確保一媒體頻道30之數位內容的播放順序為對應於內容創造器之意圖，因為：1.數位內容檔案5係以自媒體頻道30之順序而複製，其中，數位內容係排序及組織於媒體頻道30；2.輸出視訊檔案40之檔案名稱係根據樣板[YYMMDDHHMM]－[CHANNEL NAME]－[FILENAME].AVI而產生；3.於一媒體頻道30之內的所有內容係顯示及複製至於播放器20之單一個視訊檔案夾。第4圖係描繪在轉換至其以媒體頻道30所命名之單一個檔案夾(ESPN)的視訊檔案40之後的數位內容。
一區域資料庫14係納入於系統10，其係維持關於先前連接至桌上型電腦9之播放器20的技術能力之記錄。資料庫14係亦儲存其轉換及轉移至播放器20之檔案明細。此係意指的是：對於先前連接的播放器20之查詢過程係較不密集且因此使得對於播放器20之整體下載時間為最小。
參考第2、6與7圖，於一個典型情況，使用者係運用系統10經由網際網路而瀏覽一媒體入口網站50以尋找一媒體頻道30或小群聚傳播/數位內容。使用者係連接其之播放器20至其之電腦9(步驟100)以下載新的數位內容至其之播放器20。系統10係包含一播放器偵測模組以偵測該連接且查詢針對於播放器20之其視訊、音訊與儲存能力。查詢之結果係儲存於區域資料庫14以供未來運用，若此係第一次該播放器20為已經連接至電腦9。系統10係偵測其為相容於播放器20之視訊格式(步驟101)。在彼等相容的視訊格式之中，播放器20所最為偏愛的視訊格式係選擇(步驟102)以轉換數位內容成為該視訊格式。使用者係訂閱媒體頻道30(步驟103)且頻道30之明細係呈現於系統10之使用者介面的主視窗。種種的數位內容係呈現於主視窗之一表列，如於第3圖所繪，供使用者以下載至其之播放器20。使用者係能夠佇列(queue)自媒體頻道30之選擇的數位內容以供下載至其之播放器20(步驟104)。佇列的數位內容係由資料接收器模組11所下載自媒體頻道30(步驟105)。其次，數位內容係由轉換模組12所轉換(步驟106)，且為由下載模組13所下載至播放器20(步驟107)。替代而言，資料接收器模組11係可在播放器20為連接於電腦9之前而下載佇列的數位內容。接收的數位內容係儲存於電腦9而直到播放器20為連接。當播放器20為連接，轉換與下載過程係開始。使用者係稍後為中斷該播放器20與電腦9之連接，且以該內容創造器已經公開於媒體頻道30之確實順序而消費數位內容(步驟108)。
參考第5圖，播放器20係具有一種選單驅動式的導航系統。欲消費於播放器20之數位內容，使用者係由主選單(Main Menu)而開始。使用者係導航視訊選單且進行至視訊選單項目。使用者係接著選擇其為感興趣之媒體頻道30。於此子類別，使用者係可接著消費形式為視訊檔案40之期望的數位內容，例如：公開於媒體頻道30之影集。替代而言，針對“Zencast”之一個選項係可見於主選單。
參考第8至10圖，系統10之一第二實施例係提出於一下載管理器之形式。系統10係包含一使用者介面80與一下載模組。使用者介面80係響應於一使用者動作(例如：點選一連結或按鈕以下載自一媒體頻道30之數位內容5)而顯示至使用者。較佳而言，使用者介面80係由如同其為一網頁附掛程式(plugin)之網頁瀏覽器應用程式而啟動。附掛程式係可為一ActiveX/OCX構件。若附掛程式係並未先前安裝，瀏覽器係將提示使用者以將其下載及安裝。當瀏覽器係偵測一特定的檔案附屬檔名或檔案型式，使用者介面80係啟動且出現在媒體頻道30網頁上方。一旦使用者介面80係啟動，其為呈現於背景以偵測其佇列以供下載之任何更進一步的數位內容5。使用者介面80係致能數位內容5為選擇性直接下載至播放器20。下載模組係經由網際網路以接收自媒體頻道30之選擇的數位內容5，且傳送選擇的數位內容5至播放器20而無須作成一區域複製。此係避免使用者為需要指定於電腦9之一下載檔案夾且接著導航至下載檔案夾及複製內容至播放器20。下載模組係接收選擇數位內容於一記憶體緩衝器，其在數位內容為儲存至播放器20之前而暫時儲存關於數位內容之資料。然而，使用者介面80係可包含一下載位置輸入欄位，以指出針對於數位內容之一區域複製的儲存位置。數個步驟係避免，由於下載係直接自媒體頻道30至播放器20並且對於使用者為透明。使用者係必須指定播放器20之型式於播放器選擇欄位81，以指出播放器20之型式。選用而言，若使用者係欲同時作成一區域複製於電腦9，則指定下載位置於下載位置輸入欄位82。一旦此等欄位81、82係已經指定，使用者係藉由點選“現在下載(Download Now)”按鈕83而開始下載過程。
下載模組係能夠維持數位內容5之內容創造器的數位權利。
使用者介面80係包含複數欄，其包括：數位內容5之標題、數位內容5之檔案尺寸、數位內容5之發行日期、與數位內容5之簡單說明；及關聯於各個數位內容之一檢查方塊，以指出數位內容5是否為待下載。其他欄係包括：媒體頻道30之名稱、數位內容5之作者、插圖、數位內容之URL、與數位內容5之語言。
一轉換模組12亦被設置，以轉換所接收的數位內容至一視訊檔案40。視訊檔案40係確保該數位內容以內容創造器所公開於媒體頻道30之數位內容的相同順序消費。
雖然系統10係已經描述位在於一桌上型電腦9之一客戶端應用程式，預見的是：系統10係可為作業於一應用程式服務提供者(ASP,Application Service Provider)模型之一伺服器側應用程式。於該種情況，使用者介面係提供於一網頁，其允許使用者以指定媒體頻道30與欲下載的數位內容及其播放器20之明細。播放器20之完整明細係可為已經儲存於伺服器側之資料庫，否則，對於連接的播放器20之一查詢係作成，且查詢的結果係上載至伺服器側。其次，當使用者係確認下載為欲進行，下載與轉換係發生於伺服器側且視訊檔案40係儲存至播放器20。
第11圖係顯示下載數位內容至播放器20之另一種方法的流程圖，其可確保數位內容於該內容創造器所公開於媒體頻道30之數位內容的相同順序下消費。下載模組係可建立用於轉移至播放器20之一表列(list)的媒體頻道(步驟100)。該表列係可由使用者所定義或是基於使用者的設定檔/最愛選擇而自動產生。下載模組係接著得到相關於播放器20之資料且決定針對於播放器20之數位內容的一儲存位置(步驟102)。儲存位置係檢查且播放器20之媒體播放能力係決定(步驟104)。儲存位置與播放器20之媒體播放能力係可決定其下載至播放器20之數位內容的型式。舉例而言，僅有音訊的內容係可儲存於其標示為“音訊”之一檔案夾，視訊內容係可儲存於其標示為“視訊”之一檔案夾，等等。
隨後，數位內容之元資料(metadata)係檢查(步驟106)且數位內容之消費的順序係由元資料所決定。此係可包括檔案之重新命名或排列檔案以消費於特定順序。若為必要時，內容係亦可轉碼至其保存消費順序之一格式(步驟108)且致能播放器20以辨識及消費該數位內容。舉例而言，一個僅有音訊的檔案係可轉換為一視訊檔案(用於視訊致能的播放器)，一視訊檔案係可轉換為一個僅有音訊的檔案(用於非視訊致能的播放器)，等等。應注意的是：無法被轉碼且由播放器20所消費之數位內容係將不會下載至播放器20。
下載模組係亦可為於下載及/或轉碼過程期間而插入附加的內容。附加的內容係可為通知書(例如：告知使用者一韌體升級)、廣告與類似者。附加的內容係可為定期更新於事先設定間隔或是每當下載及/或轉碼為發生時。附加的內容係可為關聯於其相關於內容之媒體頻道。附加的內容係可僅為音訊、文字或視訊。
熟習本項技術者所將理解的是：諸多的變化及/或修改係可作成於如特定實施例所示之本發明而未脫離如為廣義描述之本發明的範疇或精神。因此，現有的實施例係於各方面為均視作說明性質而非限制性質。

Claims (29)

  1. 一種用於下載數位內容至可攜式媒體播放器之系統，該數位內容係由一個內容創造器公開於媒體頻道，該系統係包含：一資料接收器模組，其係經由一通訊媒體而接收自該媒體頻道而來之數位內容；一轉換模組，其係轉換所接收之數位內容成為用於由該播放器消費的至少一個預定的檔案格式中的至少一個檔案；及一下載模組，其係複製該至少一個檔案至可攜式媒體播放器；其中，該檔案係致能該數位內容於該內容創造器公開於媒體頻道之數位內容的相同順序下被消費。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該數位內容係自下列者組成的群組而來之至少一者：文字、影像、音訊與視訊。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該媒體頻道係自下列者組成的群組而來之任一者：網路傳播與一小群聚傳播。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該至少一個檔案係儲存於可攜式媒體播放器之單一個位置，該單一個位置係自下列者組成的群組而來之任一者：目錄、檔案夾、與節點。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，更包含：一播放器偵 測模組，以偵測其相容於可攜式媒體播放器之檔案格式。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第5項之系統，其中，該播放器偵測模組係亦偵測可攜式媒體播放器之顯示能力與音訊能力，其包括：螢幕尺寸、解析度、對比位準、音訊位元率、或立體聲能力。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第6項之系統，其中，預定的檔案格式係根據可攜式媒體播放器之顯示與音訊能力而選擇。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，預定的檔案格式係自MPG、MPEG、AVI、MOV、WMV、ASF、MP3、WMA、與MID所組成的群組而來之任一者。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該至少一個檔案係一視訊檔案。
  10. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，預定的檔案格式係致能於該視訊檔案的章節記號之使用者組態以便於框操縱。
  11. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該數位內容係以公開於媒體頻道之數位內容的順序而由該資料接收器模組所接收。
  12. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，若數位內容係文字，該轉換模組係基於可攜式媒體播放器之顯示器的尺寸而分頁該文字，轉換各頁之文字為一視訊框，且藉由組合該等視訊格成為該視訊檔案而產生一滑動顯示。
  13. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，若數位內容係影像，該轉換模組係轉換各個影像為一共同影像格式， 調整該影像之比例至由可攜式媒體播放器所支援的一解析度，且轉換各個影像為針對於該視訊檔案之一視訊框。
  14. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，若數位內容係一音訊檔案，該轉換模組係轉換該音訊檔案為由可攜式媒體播放器所支援之一預定音訊格式，且轉換該音訊檔案之音訊內容為該視訊檔案之一音訊串。
  15. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，若數位內容係一視訊檔案，其非為由可攜式媒體播放器所原本支援之一視訊格式，該轉換模組係轉碼該視訊檔案為由可攜式媒體播放器所原本支援之一視訊格式。
  16. 如申請專利範圍第9項之系統，其中，該視訊檔案之檔案名稱係形式為：[YYMMDDHHMM]-[CHANNELNAME]-[FILENAME].AVI。
  17. 如申請專利範圍第1項之系統，其中，該系統係位在於一伺服器，其係可經由網際網路存取。
  18. 一種用於下載數位內容至可攜式媒體播放器之方法，該數位內容係由內容創造器公開於媒體頻道，該方法係包含：經由一通訊媒體以接收自該媒體頻道之數位內容；轉換所接收數位內容為預定格式之至少一個檔案；及複製該至少一個檔案至可攜式媒體播放器；其中，該檔案係致能數位內容於該內容創造器公開於媒體頻道之數位內容的相同順序消費。
  19. 如申請專利範圍第18項之方法，更包含：偵測相容 於該可攜式媒體播放器之檔案格式。
  20. 如申請專利範圍第18項之方法，更包含：根據該可攜式媒體播放器之適用性而選擇預定的檔案格式。
  21. 一種用於下載數位內容至可攜式媒體播放器之系統，該數位內容係由內容創造器公開於媒體頻道，該系統係包含：一使用者介面，其係響應於一使用者動作而顯示給使用者，該使用者介面係致能數位內容為選擇性直接下載至該可攜式媒體播放器；一下載模組，其係經由一通訊媒體以接收自該媒體頻道之選擇數位內容，且傳送該選擇數位內容至可攜式媒體播放器而無須作成一區域複製；及一轉換模組，以轉換所接收數位內容為預定格式之至少一個檔案；其中，該檔案係致能數位內容於該內容創造器所公開於媒體頻道之數位內容的相同順序消費。
  22. 如申請專利範圍第21項之系統，其中，該下載模組係接收該選擇數位內容於一記憶體緩衝器，其在該數位內容為儲存至可攜式媒體播放器之前而暫時儲存關於數位內容之資料。
  23. 如申請專利範圍第21項之系統，其中，該使用者動作係自下列者組成的群組之任一者：點選一連結或按鈕以下載數位內容。
