Description
本發明係關於無線電通訊的領域,更特定言之,本發明係關於藉由提供伺服無線電網路控制器的允許B節點之清除控制之系統及方法。
第三代(3G)通用地面無線電存取網路(UTRAN)包括許多無線電網路控制器(RNCs),每一個無線電網路控制器耦合至一或更多B節點,每一個B節點包括一或更多服務一或更多胞元的基地台,該B節點必然與一或更多使用者設備(UEs)通訊。
一種3G系統,其包括頻分雙工(FDD)及時分雙工(TDD)模式,典型上使用該RNC以分佈(亦即,緩衝及調度)至UE的資料傳輸。然而,對3G蜂窩系統的高速頻道,資料係由該B節點分佈。例如,這些高速頻道的其中一個為高速下行分享頻道(HS-DSCH)。因資料由該B節點分佈,在傳輸至該UE前,需先緩衝在該B節點的資料。
有許多在該B節點緩衝的資料不再有用的案例,且其存在會阻礙系統的有效操縱。例如,第一個案例為當可移動UE自一個胞元移動至另一個。此會導致HS-DSCH胞元變化(由此該UE由另一個B節點服務),或者在相同B節點的胞元間切換。"舊的資料"(亦即,在該HS-DSCH胞元變化前在該B節點內緩衝準備傳輸至該UE的資料)在該HS-DSCH胞元變化後不再是有用的,若該B節點持續緩衝及傳送此資料,其浪費緩衝資源及無線電連結資源。希望能自該緩衝清除此舊資料及停止此資料
的傳輸,因此作法節省緩衝資源及無線電連結資源。
第二個案例係關於無線電連結控制器(RLC)層。該RLC層在伺服無線電網路控制器(SRNC)及該UE皆為對等實體,有時存在當該RLC點對點協定失效,且該RLC重新設定其本身的機會。RLC失效的原因為因情況而異的且此種原因不在本發明範圍內。然而,一旦該RLC重新設定其本身,則先前在該B節點緩衝的資料不再為有用的因該RLC重新併發及重新開始傳輸。此已緩衝的資料僅會引起傳輸延遲及不必要的無線電資源之使用,若被傳輸,此資料只會由該RLC對等實體捨棄。
第三個案例係關於藉由該RLC在確認應答模式(AM)的資料之依序傳送。該AM RLC的要求為確認通訊協定資料單位(PDUs)的依序傳送發生。該RLC使用一種伴隨每一個PDU的序號(SN)以確認PDUs的依序傳送至較高層。當有失序傳送(亦即,當找不到PDU時)時,在該UE的RLC傳送一個狀態報告PDU至其在該B節點的對等實體,要求該失聯的PDUs之重新傳輸,一旦接到該狀態報告PDU,在該RNC的該對等實體重新傳輸該失聯的PDU之複本。
基於許多理由,高度希望已重新傳輸的PDUs儘可能快速到達接收側(亦即,該UE)的該RLC。首先,因依序傳送的要求,該失聯的PDU會防止後續的PDUs向前送至較高層,第二,該UE的緩衝尺寸需足夠大以容納重新傳輸的延遲,並仍維持有效的資料速率,延遲愈長,該UE的緩衝尺寸必須愈大以容許該UE緩衝停滯的該PDUs及持續的資料接收直到正確的序列PDU可被向前送至較高層。該較大的緩衝尺寸造成UEs的增加硬體成本。此為非常不欲的。
第1圖為先前技藝系統,其包括一種RNC、一種B節點、
一種UE及它們的附屬緩衝。在此先前技藝系統,具SN=3的一種PDU未被該UE成功接收。所以,在該UE的該RLC要求在該RNC的其對等RLC層重新傳輸。同時,具SNs=6-9的PDUs在該B節點緩衝,且具SNs=4及5的PDUs在該UE緩衝。應注意的是雖然第1圖僅顯示被緩衝的許多PDUs,事實上許多更多的PDUs(例如100或更多)及自其他RLC對等的PDUs可被緩衝。
如第2圖所示,具SN=3的該PDU之重新傳輸必須在該B節點緩衝的行之末端等待,且僅在具SNs=6-9的PDUs被傳輸後才被傳輸。在該UE的PDUs無法向前送至較高層直到所有PDUs依序被接收。在此情況下,具SN=3的該PDU停止後續的PDUs向前送至較高層(亦即,SNs=4-9),假設所有該PDUs被成功傳輸。注意此實例僅反映10個PDUs,但是在正常操作中數百個PDUs可在重新傳輸的資料PDUs之前被調度,其更使傳輸的延遲及資料緩衝議題惡化。
上述案例儘為許多實例的少數,其中在該B節點之資料清除會產生無線電通訊系統的更有效率操作。
希望具一種系統及方法,由此該RNC可控制在該B節點緩衝的不再有用的資料之清除。在許多情況下,此緩衝資料的刪除會造成系統的更有效操作。
本發明包括一種允許RNC控制在該B節點緩衝的資料的清除之系統及方法。清除指令刪除伴隨特定UE的B節點緩衝資料,基於在該RNC發生的特定資料清除觸發事件,該RNC決定清除特定UE的所有資料,在一或許多使用者優先順序傳輸佇
列上或在一或更多在該B節點的邏輯通道的資料,而後該RNC通知該B節點清除傳輸資料的需求,該清除指令可包括一種架構以使B節點在接收由該RNC起始的現有(先前技藝)步驟以清除資料,可包括一種全新的步驟,其特定地要求B節點的資料清除或是可停留在現有步驟內或是以顯示B節點清除要求的位元或信息元件的資料傳輸。
本發明較佳具體實施例係參考圖式敘述之,其中相同數字表示相同元件。
參考第3A圖,根據本發明該RNC控制在該B節點內的清除功能之方法10被示出。該RNC等待伴隨特定UE的該清除"觸發"事件(步驟12)的發生,例如此觸發事件可包括一種伺服HS-DSCH胞元變化、一種RLC重新設定或自該UE的RLC狀態報告之產生以要求某些PDUs之重新傳輸。雖然這些為觸發事件的三個實例,熟知本技藝者應清楚地認知任何功能可被用做觸發事件以清除該B節點,若該B節點的清除可產生對系統操作的利益。因此,之後所敘述的本發明方法及系統應不僅僅受限於該三個已列舉的觸發事件。
依該清除觸發事件而定,伴隨UE的所有資料,伴隨該UE的特定資料流的資料或伴隨該UE的一或更多邏輯通道的資料可被要求在該B節點的清除。
例如,在伺服HS-DSCH胞元變化的情況下,在該伺服HS-DSCH胞元變化後,在該來源B節點緩衝的所有該UE資料不再為有用的。該RNC清除該來源B節點以釋出在伴隨該UE的所有緩衝的資料使沒有任何無線電來源會在不必要的資料傳
輸上被浪費。
在RLC重新設定或RLC重新傳輸的情況下,該RNC可藉由傳輸優先順序行或是交替地由伴隨該RLC實例的邏輯通道而對特定UE選擇性地清除在該B節點緩衝的資料。在RLC重新傳輸的情況下,該清除功能會減少RLC重新傳輸的延遲且在RLC重新設定的情況下,該清除功能會避免無線電來源的浪費。
再一次參考第3A圖,該RNC決定觸發事件是否已接收(步驟14),若未接收,則該RNC回到步驟12並持續等待觸發事件的發生。若觸發事件已被偵測,則該RNC傳送一個清除訊息至該B節點,此訊息顯示該B節點應清除伴隨該UE的所欲資料(步驟16),此可為在一或更多緩衝的資料,其伴隨著一或更多資料流。在該B節點接收該訊息後(步驟18)其清除所欲緩衝(步驟20)。
根據本發明的方法10,應認知在該B節點內資料的清除刪除了不再為有用的資料及釋出在該B節點的資料緩衝來源及不必要地被分配以傳輸此資料的無線電來源。
亦應由熟知本技藝者了解由步驟16所明示的清除訊息可包括任何一或更多下列替代方式。在該清除訊息的第一替代方式中,在現有UTRAN步驟內的清除訊息在該RNC及該B節點間發出訊息,因此該B節點被構形為由該B節點的訊息接收起始一清除。在此替代方式中,在現有步驟中的該資料清除為絕對的且僅僅是訊息接收,沒有任何額外發出訊號,造成一種即使是該訊息是關於完全不同的功能的資料清除。此絕對結合可以訊框協定資料訊框發生、可在RLC PDUs攜帶、或是可以先前技藝訊息的信息元件或B節點應用部份(NBAP)或無線電網路子系統應用部份(NASAP)的步驟被攜帶而發生。
在該清除訊息的第二替代方式中,該清除訊息可包括在該RNC及該B節點間發出訊息的完全新的或唯一的UTRAN步驟,其明確地指示該B節點開始所欲緩衝的清除。此包括一個完全屬於該清除功能的個別訊息。在此替代方式中,例如,在訊框協定的一個新的控制訊框係專屬於該清除功能或是新的NBAP步驟或是新的RNSAP步驟係專屬於該清除功能。
該清除訊息的第三替代方式中,該清除訊息可包括一部份現有UTRAN步驟。在此具體實施例中,於在該RNC及該B節點間發出訊息的現有UTRAN步驟的一部份訊息之位元或信息元件係專屬於該清除功能。該B節點經由現有步驟接收此訊息及讀取該位元或信息元件以決定清除是否應發生。

亦應由熟知本技藝者了解,依據特定案例而定,因適當系統操作的原因,其他功能可能依循在該B節點的清除功能之性能。對不同案例,本發明不防止由在該B節點的經RNC控制的清除功能與其他功能之統合。
如第3B圖所示,該B節點可額外確認清除功能。步驟112-120與參考第3A圖方法10所示及所敘述的步驟12-20相同。因此,這些步驟不再進一步敘述。然而,根據本發明方法100的此替代方法,在該B節點清除所欲緩衝後(步驟120),其

確認的形式及該RNC回應此確保所採取的動作基於合適不同案例的不同系統結構而不同。做為實例,在HSDPA當清除功能被設計用於RLC PDU重新傳輸時,在完成清除功能後由該B節點至該RNC的確認可被進行以使該RNC重新開始PDU傳輸。在此情況下,該確認可以如先前所提及的類似方法進行。
在該確認訊息的第一替代方式中,該確認訊息在由該B節點至該RNC的現有訊息內如訊框協定資料訊框的標頭、或NBAP或RASAP的先前技藝訊息的一或許多位元或信息元件。
在該確認訊息的第二替代方式中,該確認訊息可包括完全新的或唯一的訊息。此包括一個完全屬於該清除功能的確認之個別訊息,例如,在專屬於該清除確認功能的該訊框協定的一個新的控制訊框或是專屬於該清除確認功能的NBAP或是RNSAP的新訊息。
最後,該確認訊息的第三替代方式中,由該B節點至該RNC的現有訊息被預先構形為顯示該清除功能的確認,即使在訊息中沒有任何明確保留用於確認的場。應由熟知本技藝者了解,依據特定案例而定,其他可達到適當系統操作的方法可被使用以確認該清除功能。
無論確認形式為何,應注意該確認可包括許多功能,首先,其包括完成該清除功能之該B節點的確認。或者,其可提供在該B節點的PDU傳輸之狀態以輔助該RNC操作。因該B節點不知道該PDU的SN,故該B節點無法直接傳送經傳輸的PDUs的SN回到該RNC,該B節點會以如辨識在該B節點的PDUs
狀態之點陣圖來通知該RNC關於該PDU的傳輸狀態,該狀態可顯示已被清除及正等待傳輸的PDUs或PDUs之數目。
參考第4圖,本發明方法50的一個實例被示出,在此案例,該UE傳輸一狀態PDU,其顯示一或更多PDUs為失聯的。在步驟52,該UE傳輸一RLC狀態報告至該RNC,其顯示該PDUs的狀態。在此實例中,假設該狀態報告顯示一或更多PDUs為失聯的,在進行該狀態報告後,該RNC送出一訊息至該B節點以自緩衝清除已緩衝的PDUs,緩衝係伴隨著要被重新傳輸的該PDUs(步驟54)。

在傳送該失聯的PDU後,該RNC立即以其最佳能力開始重新開始正常的PDU順序,或者其可等待直到該PDU清除狀態自該B節點送出,確認清除及給予信息於該已清除的PDUs。
在第一替代方式中,該清除功能之確認未被執行,或是即使該確認功能被執行,該RNC未等待接收該B節點清除功能之確認後即開始重新傳輸失聯的PDUs。該B節點不僅在接收該清除功能前清除已緩衝的PDUs且在接收來自該RNC的清除指令後會將最近接收的PDUs傳送至該UE。
在第二替代方式中,該RNC等待直到清除確認自該B節點送出。若該確認亦含在該B節點資料區塊傳輸的狀態,則該RNC可使用該信息以決定於何處重新開始該PDU傳輸。
參考第6圖,根據本發明替代方法70被示出。此方法70類似於第4圖所示的方法50,除了無清除信息確認及無該B節點送至該RNC的PDU狀態。

Claims (33)
- 一種用於管理一封包資料單元(PDU)的方法,其中該PDU由一節點B從一無線電網路控制器(RNC)接收並儲存在該節點B的一緩衝中,同時等待傳輸到一使用者設備(UE),該方法包括:該RNC偵測與關聯於該UE的一高速下行分享頻道(HS-DSCH)的複數個PDU有關的一清除觸發事件;該RNC傳送一清除訊息到該節點B以請求從該節點B的緩衝清除與該UE的該HS-DSCH關聯的該複數個PDU的至少一部分;以及該節點B從該節點B的該緩衝刪除該請求的複數個PDU。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的方法,其中該清除觸發事件為該UE的一高速下行分享頻道(HS-DSCH)胞元變化。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項所述的方法,其中該清除觸發事件為一無線電連結控制重置。

- 一種用於有效管理封包資料單元(PDU)傳輸的無線通訊系統,該系統包括:一節點B,包括一緩衝,該緩衝用於儲存等待傳送到一使 用者設備(UE)的複數個PDU;以及一無線電網路控制器(RNC),被配置用於偵測與關聯於該UE的一高速下行分享頻道(HS-DSCH)的複數個PDU有關的一清除觸發事件,以及用於傳送一清除訊息到該節點B以請求從該節點B的該緩衝清除與該UE的該HS-DSCH關聯的該複數個PDU的至少一部分,其中該節點B在接收到該清除訊息時從該緩衝刪除該請求的複數個PDU。
