Abstract

A transfer film capable of simply and inexpensively producing a light scattering layer having a light diffusing performance suitable for a light scattering/reflecting plate used in a reflection type liquid crystal display unit. The transparent resin layer of a light scattering layer forming transfer film comprising, sequentially provided on a support, an uneven mold release layer and the transparent resin layer is transferred to a receiving surface to form on the receiving surface a light scattering layer having the surface configuration of the mold release layer copied thereonto. Or, an uneven oxygen blocking layer and a photosensitive resin layer sequentially formed on a support and constituting a light scattering layer forming transfer film are transferred onto a receiving surface to form a light scattering layer having the surface configuration of the oxygen blocking layer copied thereonto after going through an exposing/developing process. A metal thin film is formed on the light scattering layer thus formed to obtain a light scattering/reflecting plate.
