Abstract

A melting method for waste, which comprises supplying waste material containing burnable material and carbonic massive burnable material from the top section to form a waste packed bed having drying, thermal degradation, combustion melting zones, discharging the molten material from the lower section of the furnace and discharging burnable gas of the waste from the upper section of the furnace, which is characterized in comprising: disposing a plurality of lower tuyeres at the burning and melting zone, mainly burning carbonic massive burnable material by feeding burning support gas, and disposing a plurality of upper tuyeres at upper position of said lower tuyeres, in which, at the time of burning part of the waste by feeding burning support gas, the burning support gas per one ton of waste is fed to be equivalent to 130 - 600 Nm3 of oxygen content, the support gas feeding rate from said upper tuyeres is 0.2 - 0.8 of the total amount in the lower and upper tuyeres, and further oxygen feeding rate from the lower tuyeres is controlled to not less than 0.8 times of theoretical oxygen amount of carbonic massive burnable material so that exhaust gas temperature at the upper position just over the waste packed bed is 150 to 700 degree C.
