Abstract
一種泡沫控制劑及藉由使用泡沫控制劑控制金屬加工液之泡沫的方法,其中該試劑包括至少一種支鏈醇。
Description
實施例係關於一種用於金屬加工液之泡沫控制劑及控制泡沫的方法,其中該試劑至少包括支鏈醇。
金屬加工液(MWF)用於金屬切削及工具成型的潤滑。此等液體為金屬加工工具提供冷卻,自工具/工件界面移除切割碎屑且有助於提供可接受的加工後成品表面。MWF可為純油、可溶性油、半合成液或合成液。純油及可溶性油含有50-70 wt.%油及油溶性抗磨/極壓添加劑。其提供極佳潤滑性但冷卻效率不佳。合成金屬加工液主要由水與潤滑劑添加劑構成。其提供移除在加工期間產生之熱量的極佳特性,但僅具有平均潤滑性。
半合成液不同於可溶性油及合成金屬加工液,因為其含有大量水,但亦含有10至30 wt.%礦物油、10至30 wt.%乳化劑及其他功能性添加劑。脂肪酸乙醇胺肥皂、烷烴磺酸鈉、醇乙氧基化物及其他界面活性劑用於將礦物油或植物油分散至水中且因此為接觸工作表面之工具金屬提供適當潤滑性。此等表面活性劑促進在金屬加工過程中產生大量泡沫,其造成工具與工件之間的液體潤滑性不足。在一些情況下,此潤滑性缺乏可導致液體自液浴溢出。一些加工過程(尤其是研磨)對泡沫極敏感且在規劃加工時需要特別小心。
基於聚矽氧之泡沫控制劑廣泛用於MWF中以解決發泡問題,因為此等試劑之表面張力極低且不溶於油及水兩者中。然而,聚矽氧消泡劑之生物降解性不佳,且其亦在許多MWF調配物中缺乏穩定性。另外,聚矽氧沈積至金屬之表面上會影響(光滑)表面處理,其亦產生任何後續塗刷步驟的額外問題。
出於所有此等及更多原因,需要用於金屬加工液之泡沫控制劑及控制泡沫的方法。
實施例係關於一種用於金屬加工液之泡沫控制劑及控制泡沫的方法,其中該試劑至少包括支鏈醇。
本發明係關於用於金屬加工液(MWF)之泡沫控制劑。本發明詳述支鏈醇如何出乎意料地顯示具有優良泡沫控制效能。支鏈醇可為2-烷基-1-烷醇(亦稱為古爾貝特醇(Guerbet alcohol)),且較佳為2-乙基己醇(2-EH)及2-丙基庚醇(2-PH)。古爾貝特醇包含2-丁基-1-辛醇。
此等醇可經由對應醛之醇醛縮合或自一級直鏈醇之古爾貝特反應合成。亦可利用其他生產方法。
泡沫控制劑亦可描述為包括來自C8-C32之經2-烷基取代之醇。醇可主要為一種異構體(>95 wt.%)或醇之混合物,其可藉由醛之混合物的醇醛縮合產生或經由古爾貝特反應自醇之混合物產生。
在一些實施例中較佳為C8-C32古爾貝特醇,包含2-乙基己醇及2-丙基庚醇以及由丁醛及戊醛之醇醛縮合產生的C8、C9及C10醇之混合物。
調配之泡沫控制劑中古爾貝特醇之濃度在0.01%至100%範圍內,較佳在30%至100%範圍內。古爾貝特醇可呈固體或液體形式,較佳為液體。若其為固體,則可將材料溶解或分散於溶劑中。該泡沫控制劑可為水溶液或基於有機溶劑之溶液。用於MWF之該泡沫控制劑的使用劑量可變化。用於MWF之此泡沫控制劑的使用劑量在0.01%至5%範圍內,較佳在0.1%至1%範圍內。
其他泡沫控制劑(例如,由環氧乙烷、環氧丙烷及/或環氧丁烷構成的共聚物,無規或嵌段)或其他疏水材料,諸如蠟、油或二氧化矽亦可與支鏈古爾貝特醇一起添加。矽消泡劑可與2-烷基醇結合使用。亦可使用界面活性劑,尤其醇之烷氧基化物。使用支鏈醇作為泡沫控制劑可為基於水的或基於油的。
本發明所揭示之新型泡沫控制劑可呈固體或液體形式。若其為固體,則可將材料溶解或分散於溶劑中,之後用作泡沫控制劑。咸信本發明所揭示之試劑在所有常用金屬加工液存在下起作用。
該化學試劑可用於消泡劑或消泡劑調配物。消泡劑調配物係藉由在氣泡之氣液界面中的聚乙二醇、酯、聚矽氧、溶劑、水及/或其他化學物質之混合物獲得,避免了泡沫形成。亦可使用基於嵌段共聚物之其他兩親性化學物質。在消泡調配物中,除上文所提及之產品以外,其亦可使用植物油、礦物油、蠟及其他油性試劑。
選擇泡沫控制劑中包括的視情況選用之界面活性劑或乳化劑以適合於改善泡沫控制劑與原料之相容性或與支鏈醇之組合物形成乳液。視情況選用之界面活性劑或乳化劑的量在支鏈醇之組合物的0.1-30重量%範圍內。
視情況選用之界面活性劑或乳化劑可為陰離子型、陽離子型或非離子型。適合之陰離子界面活性劑或乳化劑之實例為鹼金屬、銨及胺皂;此類皂之脂肪酸部分含有較佳至少10個碳原子。皂亦可「原位」形成;換言之,脂肪酸可添加至油相且鹼性材料可添加至水相。
適合之陰離子界面活性劑或乳化劑之其他實例為烷基-芳基磺酸之鹼金屬鹽、二烷基磺基丁二酸鈉、硫酸化或磺化油(例如硫酸化蓖麻油);磺化牛脂及短鏈石油磺酸之鹼金屬鹽。
適合之陽離子界面活性劑或乳化劑為長鏈一級、二級或三級胺之鹽,諸如乙酸油醯胺、乙酸十六胺、乳酸二-十二烷胺、胺乙基-胺乙基硬脂醯胺之乙酸鹽、二月桂醯三伸乙基四胺二乙酸鹽、1-胺乙基-2-十七烯基咪唑啉乙酸鹽;及四級鹽,諸如十六烷基溴化吡錠、十六烷基乙基氯化嗎啉鎓及二乙基二-十二烷基氯化銨。
適合之非離子界面活性劑或乳化劑之實例為高級脂肪醇與環氧乙烷之縮合產物,諸如油醇與10個環氧乙烷單元之反應產物;烷基酚與環氧乙烷之縮合產物,諸如異辛基苯酚與12個環氧乙烷單元之反應產物;高級脂肪酸醯胺與5個或更多個環氧乙烷單元之縮合產物;長鏈脂肪酸之聚乙二醇酯,諸如單棕櫚酸四甘醇酯、單月桂酸六甘醇酯、單硬脂酸九甘醇酯、二油酸九甘醇酯、單花生酸十三甘醇酯、單山崳酸二十三甘醇酯、二山崳酸二十三甘醇酯;多元醇部分高級脂肪酸酯,諸如三硬脂酸脫水山梨糖醇酯;多元醇部分高級脂肪酸酯與其內部酸酐(甘露糖醇-酐,稱為甘露糖酯(Mannitan),及山梨糖醇-酐,稱為山梨醇酐(Sorbitan))之環氧乙烷縮合產物,諸如單棕櫚酸甘油酯與10個環氧乙烷分子反應、單油酸新戊四醇酯與12個環氧乙烷分子反應、單硬脂酸山梨糖醇酯與10-15個環氧乙烷分子反應、甘露糖酯單棕櫚酸酯(mannitan monopalmitate)與10-15個環氧乙烷分子反應之縮合產物;在長鏈聚乙二醇中,一個羥基經高級脂肪酸酯化且另一個羥基經低分子醇醚化,諸如單硬脂酸甲氧基聚乙二醇(550)酯(550意謂聚乙二醇醚之平均分子量)。可使用兩種或更多種此等界面活性劑之組合;例如,陽離子可與非離子或陰離子可與非離子摻合。
泡沫控制劑可進一步包括一或多種添加劑。添加劑之實例包含環氧乙烷/環氧丙烷嵌段共聚物、環氧丁烷/環氧丙烷嵌段共聚物、環氧乙烷/環氧丁烷嵌段共聚物、蠟或基於聚矽氧之材料。對於其中界面活性劑在清潔步驟中引起發泡之其他清潔應用,可使用至多C32的經2-烷基取代之高級醇。
本文所述之泡沫控制劑可用於半合成MWF或合成MWF,其包括松油酸、乙醇胺、KOH、聚烷基二醇潤滑劑、醇乙氧基化物、烷烴磺酸鈉及水。本文所述之泡沫控制劑亦有助於維持給定MWF之透明度且亦為可生物降解的。
實例
測試本發明所揭示之泡沫控制劑及其他物質之功效的實驗可如下進行。

首先進行篩選搖動測試以評估本發明所揭示之泡沫控制劑和一些比較實例。使用DI水將濃縮之商業金屬加工液BLC稀釋20倍。接著以0.05%(500 ppm)添加測試消泡劑以在8 ml小瓶中製備2公克溶液。接著在實驗室搖動器中在高速設定下搖動小瓶1小時且將此測試結果記錄於下表2中。

隨後藉由將測試實例及比較實例與其他常見商業MWF調配物混合來進一步評估測試實例及比較實例。表3中所示之樣品藉由將0.100 g泡沫控制劑溶解至9.900 g半合成/合成MWF中且搖動混合物以得到均勻溶液來製備。使用專門設計的圓筒來評估發泡程度。圓筒之0 mL標記與250 mL標記之間的距離為20-21.5 cm,且250 mL標記與塞子底部的距離約為4-6 cm。隨後將2.50 g可溶性油或半合成MWF濃縮物添加至含有95 mL標準物25 ppm硬水之250 mL圓筒中。在用塞子封閉圓筒後,將圓筒在1分鐘內倒置30次,且記錄在時間0秒時之初始泡沫,以及在30秒時、1分鐘時、2分鐘時及3分鐘時之泡沫程度。
用於此測試之標準硬水(25 ppm)係藉由在DI水中添加無水氯化鈣(0.045 g)及六水合氯化鎂(0.023 g)製備,以製備2.0 L 25 ppm之標準硬水。

如表3中所示,在典型合成MWF調配物中,1%劑量之三種測試支鏈醇與空白樣品相比有助於增加泡沫破裂。2-PH顯示最佳消泡劑效能且相比於市場中現有的非聚矽氧消泡劑在調配物中穩定。在含有較高含量高發泡乳化劑之典型半合成MWF中,與公認的泡沫控制劑FoamBan 3057相比,2-BO呈現更好的消泡特性,且2-BO在調配物中亦更穩定且維持透明度。
