Abstract

The present invention provides a vertical alignment type liquid crystal display element which can render the vertical alignment property, excellent voltage stability, the contrast non-uniformity and the display fault would not happen even when be placed under the high moisture environment, and also has high reliability; and also provides a liquid crystal alignment agent being used therein. The said vertical alignment type liquid crystal alignment agent comprises 100 parts by weight of the polyimidic acid and/or its imidization polymer obtained by reacting the tetracarboxylic dianhydride and the diamino compound and a 0.01 to 100 parts by weight of the compound containing 2 or more epoxy group in the molecular.
