Abstract
It is intended to provide a method of producing an amide compound by using nitrile hydratase which has a high thermal stability and can sustain a high activity even in the presence of a nitrile compound that is the substrate or an amide compound that is a product at a high concentration. A novel microorganism capable of expressing the desired nitrile hydratase is searched for in nature. Then, transformant cells belonging to the genus Rhodococcus, which carry a gene of the above-described enzyme having been transferred thereinto, or processed cells thereof are employed in the production.
