Abstract

An intake device (1) of an engine enabling a reduction in general size by increasing the workability of a bypass passage, comprising a throttle body (2) having a bore (4) and a throttle valve (5). The bore (4) comprises the bypass passage (10) bypassing the throttle valve (5) and a bypass valve (11) opening and closing the bypass passage (10). A device block (3) is fixed to the mounting surface (9a). The bypass valve (11) and a motor (12) are installed in the block (3). A bypass inlet hole (16) and a bypass outlet hole (17) are formed in the body (2) on the upstream side and downstream side of the bore (4) on both sides of the throttle valve (5) correspondingly to the mounting surface (9a). A bypass groove (18) connecting the inlet hole (16) to the outlet port (17) is formed in the mounting surface (9a). By fixing the block (3) to the mounting surface (9a) to cover the groove (18) by the covering surface (3a), the bypass passage (10) is formed of the inlet hole (16), the outlet hole (17), the groove (18), and the covering surface (3a).
