Abstract

A pair of temperature regulating plates (16) is heated by flowing steam into their passages (163). Pressure regulating devices are independently provided on the pair of the temperature regulating plates (16) so as to regulate their temperature by regulating the pressure of the steam. Because the temperature of the pair of the temperature regulating plates (16) can be independently controlled respectively, the temperature of both surfaces of a base material (5) can be equalized, and the warping of the base material (5) can be suppressed. Further, because a stamper (17) is pressed against the base material (5) at a specified pressure after the temperature regulating plates (16) have been heated up to a specified temperature, the surface of the base material (5) is surely fused, and the undulated patterns can be excellently transferred.
