Abstract

A spinning head for melt spinning a plurality of synthetic filaments as well as a filter device for such a spinning head are described. In this connection a filter device is arranged between an inlet plate with a melt feed inlet and a die plate with a plurality of die orifices, the filter device comprising a cylindrical filter ring element through which melt flows from the outside to the inside. In order to form a sufficient filter surface in the case of large melt throughput rates, according to the invention a separate second filter ring element is associated with the first filter ring element, the second element being arranged spaced from the outer-lying first filter ring element. A first partial stream of the melt is fed through the first filter ring element from the outside to the inside and a second partial stream of the melt is fed through the second filter ring element from the inside to the outside, so as to be combined in a delivery space formed between the filter ring elements.
