Abstract
A fluid operated valve includes first and second valve chambers (16, 25) in communication with each other through a through hole (21), a first cylinder chamber (39) located adjacent to the first valve chamber (16) for accommodating a first piston (6) so as to be slidable therein, a valve element (3) provided in the second valve chamber (25) and contacting or separating from a valve seat (22) formed around the through hole (21), a valve shaft (4) connected at one end thereof to the first piston (6) and at the other end thereof to the valve body (3), and a ring-shaped diaphragm (8) fixedly secured at an inner perimeter thereof to the valve shaft (4) and at an outer perimeter thereof to the inner peripheral surface of the first valve chamber (16). The first piston (6) is urged by a spring (9) to contact the valve body (3) with the valve seat (22). The first piston (6) can be moved by supplying working fluid into the first cylinder chamber (39) through a working fluid supply port formed in the first cylinder (5) to separate the valve body (3) from the valve seat (22).
