Abstract

The present invention relates to a process to accelerate CD recycling by mechanical pre-damaging, and particularly to a method using a mechanical process to pre-damage the film layer of the optical recording medium, including the protection layer of the optical recording medium, since this layer may hinder the subsequent recycling chemical reaction, so as to significantly increase the effective reacting interface between the chemical solution and the other layers, and assist the chemical solution to further separate the film material from the substrate material. The whole method is easy in operation, low in cost, fast and reliable in dissolution, and capable of accelerating the reaction of chemical solution, reducing the manufacturing time and, more important of all, decreasing the damage to the polycarbonate substrate material caused by the chemical solution, which is helpful in high-quality recycling the substrate and film material of the optical recording medium, and which can effectively avoid the secondary contamination in the recycling process
