Abstract
An object of the invention is to provide a method for reducing sulfur compounds in the gas in CDQ equipment, the sulfur compounds are generated when the coke is burned by the air existing in pre-chamber. The method comprises steps of: preparing lime including more than 10 wt% of lime of having a grain size of less than 10mm; and throwing 25-640g of the prepared lime per one ton coke into pre-chamber and/or bucket truck of the CDQ equipment where red-hot coke is to be thrown in.
