Abstract

Bu buluş, hem PSTN (analog telefon şebekesi) hem de ISDN (Dijital telefon şebekesi) üzerinden çeşitli DSL (Sayısal Abone Hattı) servisi tiplerini tek bir donanını ile destekleyebilen bir evrensel DSL modem ve modem üzerinde bunu yapabilecek kabiliyette olan yazılımla ilgilidir. Evrensel DSL Modem (1) hem ISDN (27) hattı üzerinden hem de PSTN (25) hattı üzerinden verilen DSL servis tiplerinin frekans bandını (26, 28) destekleyebilen bir DSL Hat Arayüzü'ne (11) sahiptir. Evrensel DSL Modem telefon kablosuna (6), DSL servis tipine uygun olan harici bir yüksek geçiren filtre (HPF)(2) üzerinden bağlanır. Telefon hattı sonlandırıcısı ise telefon servisi tipinin frekans bandına (PSTN(25) veya ISDN(27)) uygun olan harici alçak geçiren filtre (LPF)(3) üzerinden bağlanır. Modem'in içinde çalışan yazılım ise cihazın bağlı bulunduğu DSL servis tipini otomatik olarak belirler. DSL Sayısal Sinyal işlemcisine (DSP)(12) bağlı bulunduğu hattın DSL tipinin frekans bandına uygun DSL sinyallerin alıp gönderebilen algoritmayı çalıştırır. Bu yazılım ve donanım özellikleri sayesinde, bu buluşta gerçekleştirilen Evrensel DSL modem hem PSTN üzerinden DSL hem de ISDN üzerinden DSL servisini aynı donanım ile destekleyebilme özelliğine sahip olur. Evrensel DSL modem ayrıca VoIP, IPTV ve kablosuz bağlantı gibi özellikleri de üzerinde taşıyabilir.
