Bu bulusta kimerik genler tarif edilmistir. A chimeric gene codes for a plant lysine ketoglutarate reductase and codes for lysine-sensitive dihydrodipicolinic acid synthase (DHDPS), which can be linked to a plant chloroplast transit series, all of which can be functionally linked to plant seed specific regulatory series. In the present invention, they are also provided in methods that enable their use to increase the level of lysine in the seeds of transformed plants.
