Installing ramps against an operator shift (Fo) applied to the slide flange provides an additional axial force (Fa) to increase the engagement force of the friction clutches. The element is fixed for rotating with the flash and sliding relative to the flash. Spring washers react in opposite directions between the element and the jaw elements to limit the amount of additional axial force (Fa). The blocker's shoulders prevent the jaw clutches from being attached asynchronously. The spring washers are inserted between the blocker clusters and friction clutches to return the slide flange to a neutral position and leave self-energized ramps against the pulling of the slide force (Fo) before completing a slide.
