Abstract

THE INVENTION DEALS RELATES TO A PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING FLAKE BOARDS COMPRISING AT LEAST THREE LAYERS MADE OUT OF LIGNOCELLULOSIC FLAKES AND/OR FLAKES CONTAINING CELLULOSE. THE FLAKE BOARD IS AN OSB BOARD OR A WAFER BOARD. THE FLAKE ARE PRODUCED FROM PALM, IN PARTICULAR DATE AND OIL PALM, FRONDS WHICH, AFTER REMOVED FROM THE PALMS ARE FREED FROM LEAFLETS AND IF PRESENT, FROM THROMS. THUS OBTAINED MIDRIBS ARE THEN PROCESSED INTO LONGISH CHIPS. THE CHIPS ARE SUBSEQUENTLY FLAKED INTO THE FLAKES, WHICH ARE OF DIFFERENT SIZES. THE OBTAINED FLAKES ARE DRIED AND SEPARATED INTO AT LEAST COARSE AND FINE FLAKES. AFTER THAT THE FLAKES ARE GLUED, SCATTERED AS A MAT AND PRESSED TO THE BOARD. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION THE CHIPS ARE MOISTENED AND THEN THERMALLY TREATED WITH SATURATED STEAM AT A TEMPERATURE OF 100-140 C° DIRECTLY AFTER THERMAL TREATMENT. ACCORDING TO THE PRESENT INVENTION IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY WITH RESPECT TO THE BENDING STRENGTH IS ACHIEVED.
