A formulation of an emulsifying concentrate (EC) comprising a) phenylsemicarbazone compound of formula (I) (chemical formula) (I) in which R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen cyanol halogen C1-C4 alkyl C1-C4-alkoxy C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy and R3 is C1-C4-alkoxy C1-C4-haloalkyl or C1-C4-haloalkoxy or agriculturally acceptable salts of these compounds; a solvent system comprising b1) gamma-butyrolactone, b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones, and b3) optionally one or more aromatic hydrocarbons; one or more emulsifying agents; optionally, further formulation additives.

An EC, as claimed in claim 1, which essentially consists of: a) phenylsemicarbazone formulation (I) 0.1 to 30% by weight; b) a solvent system 6 to 97% by weight, which includes: b1) gamma-butyrolactone; b2) one or more aliphatic and/or aromatic ketones and, alternatively, one or more aromatic hydrocarbons; c) one or more emulsifying agents 2 to 20% by weight; and d) further formulation additives 0 to 52%.
