Abstract
กระดูกหูเทียมใช้ในผู้ป่วยที่ไมมีกระดูกหูทั้งหมด หรือมีเฉพาะกระดูกรูปโกลน (stapes) หรือมีแผ่นกระดูกรูปไข่ (foot plate) เชื่อมหรือไม่เชื่อมติดกับหน้าต่างรูปไข่ (OVAL WINDOW) ซึ่งผู้ป่วยเคยได้รับการผ่าตัดแบบถอนรากถอนโคน (radical mastoidestomy) มาแล้ว หรือในรายที่ไม่เคยผ่าตัด มาก่อน แต่เป็นโรคหูน้ำหนวกชนิดเรื้อรัง (chronic otitis media) หรือผู้ป่วยที่เป็นโรคหูน้ำหนวกชนิดอันตราย (chotestoma)

1. กระดูกหูเทียมที่มีระบบคาน ข้อต่อ สำหรับส่งแรงสั่นสะเทือนจากแก้วหู ไปยังประสาทหูชั้นใน คานทำหน้าที่ขยายแรง สั่นสะเทือนของเสียงจากแก้วหู ส่วนข้อต่อ ทำหน้าที่เปลี่ยน ทิศทางของแรงสั่นสะเทือนของเสียงจากแนวขนานกับรูหู เกือบ ตั้งฉากกับแก้วหู ส่งผ่านคาน และข้อต่อไปยังหน้าต่างรูปไข่ (OVAL WINDOW) ซึ่งอยู่กันคนละระนาบกับแก้วหู คือระนาบของ หน้าต่างรูปไข่ (OVAL WINDOW) ทำมุมเกือบตั้งฉากกับระนาบ แก้วหู (tympanic membrane)
2. ส่วนของคาน และข้อต่อของกระดูกหูเทียมตามข้อถือสิทธิ 1 ทำด้วยโลหะ ปลอดสนิมแท็ก :
