The ethanol is then soaked in a ratio of 1:2 (weight:volume) of the dried leaf powder to ethanol. The extract is then vaporized using a centrifuge. This leaf extract, at a concentration of 5 g/L, effectively inhibits the germination and seedling growth of three weed species (Rauwolfia serpentina, Barnyard grass, and Amaranth). The highest average inhibition rate (86-100%) was observed.
