Abstract

The extraction process from mango leaves for weed control involves the following steps: Mango leaves are chopped and dried, then finely ground and soaked in water at a ratio of 1:2 by weight to volume (W/V). The extracted water is then vaporized using a centrifuge to obtain a mango leaf extract. A concentration of 50 g/L of this mango leaf extract effectively inhibits the germination and seedling growth of four weed species (barnyard grass, weed rice, spiny amaranth, and spiny spinach), achieving the highest average inhibition rates (94.91-100%).

------14/03/2568------(OCR) OCR 09WP 1. The process of extracting substances from mango leaves for weed control involves the following steps: a. Select complete mango leaves, removing any damaged parts. The leaves are then chopped and dried in an oven at 60°C for 3 days. The dried leaves are then weighed to 1,000 grams. b. The dried mango leaves from step a are ground finely in a grinder. They are then soaked in pure water at a ratio of dried mango powder to water of 1:2 by weight to volume (W/V), meaning 1,000 grams of dried mango powder to 2,000 milliliters of water. The mixture is left for 3 days. Afterward, the soaked mango leaf water is filtered twice using cheesecloth to obtain the mango leaf extract. c. The solvent from the mango leaf extract obtained in step b is evaporated using a rotary vacuum evaporator. d. The resulting mango leaf extract is stored in a dark glass bottle and tightly sealed. ------------
