Description
(5) METHOD FOR APPLYING FLOS
This invention relates to soldering, in particular to a method of applying flux to printed circuit boards. There are known methods for applying flux to printed circuit boards by dipping into a bath, watering and spraying flux 1. A disadvantage of these methods is the impossibility of accurately metering Olus on the surface of printed circuit boards. The closest to the invention in its technical nature is a method of applying a flux wave of fluxing fluid, which consists in passing printed circuit boards through the crest of fluxing fluid. This method allows you to apply a uniform layer of high quality J2l to the surface of printed circuit boards. The disadvantage of this method is the impossibility of producing thin layers of flux (thinner than 0.1 mm), as a rule, the surface is covered with an excess layer of flux, which degrades the quality of soldering and complicates the process of final cleaning of printed circuit boards. In addition, with this method, intensive mixing and capture of the contaminants and gas bubbles by the flux occurs, which degrades the quality of fluxing. The aim of the invention is to improve the accuracy of dosing of the flux and improving the quality of fluxing. This goal is achieved in that according to the method of applying the flux, the comb of the fluxing fluid is formed by supplying a jet of heated liquid from a nozzle, at the exit of which flux is supplied to the jet, producing a flux film on the surface of the jet. .In FIG. 1 shows a device implementing the method, side view; Figure 2 is the same, top view. The device contains a carrier tape 1 flux 2, placed above the bath 3 with a heated liquid C, One
2.of the sections of the carrier tape 1 is shown in the reservoir 5 with the liquid flux 2.
In the bath 3, a nozzle 6 is arranged to create a jet 7 of liquid. At the base 8 of the jet 7, one of the portions of the carrier tape 1 is shown, and in the crest 9 of the jet 7 a printed circuit board 10. At the point of contact, the latter with the crest 9 consists of 11 fluxes formed by the flux film 12.
The surface of the printed circuit board 10 is covered with a layer of 13 flux.
The method is implemented as follows.
7. A stream of 7 heated fluid is created. D. Tape carrier 1 is set in motion (drive not shown) in the direction indicated by the arrow. During its movement, the carrier tape 1 captures the flux 2 from the tank 5 and moves the flux 2 to the base 8 of the jet 7.
12.At the moment of contact of the heated fluid k with the flux 2, the latter is carried to the ridge 9 by the jet 7, forming on the surface of the jet a flux film 12.
The printed circuit board 10 is transported (in the direction indicated by the arrow) through the ridge 9 of the jet 7. Upon contact of the board 10 with the flux film 12, a flux layer 11 is formed at the contact site having a thickness slightly greater than the flux film 12. The wetting of the PCB 10 with the flux 2 occurs and a flux layer 13 is formed.
Modes required for the implementation of the method when applying flux brand FKS.
4.Flux viscosity is 20-25 s according to VZ-4 viscometer.
IIO-IZCP.Heated fluid - glycerin, working temperature IIO-IZCP.
The transfer speed of the carrier tape is 2.5-3.0 m / min.
The thickness of the flux layer on the surface of the printed circuit board of fiberglass 0.15-0.2 mm.
2.The thickness of the flux layer 13 can be controlled by varying the speed of movement of the carrier tape 1 and the viscosity of the flux 2.
The proposed method of applying flux on printed circuit boards to meter out a layer of flux in the range of 0.05-0.3 mm while the known method does not allow to obtain a layer of flux less than 0.1 mm. The non-uniformity of the flux layer does not exceed 5, which is 3 times less than the non-uniformity achieved in a known manner. In addition, the consumption of ilus is reduced by 10-15, and the flux quality is improved by eliminating the mixing of the flux.
