Description
99,8.The invention relates to methods for treating activated carbon and can be used to purify wastewater from organochlorine impurities. A known method of treating activated carbon with a concentrated alkali solution with further heating to 600-800 ° C in the presence of. The disadvantage of this method is the low adsorption capacity of activated carbon relative to methylene chloride and chloroform. The purpose of the invention is to increase the adsorption capacity of activated carbon relative to methylene chloride and chloroform. This goal is achieved by the fact that according to the method of treating activated carbon with alkali, it is additionally treated with a solution of a polymer in acetone. A solution of methyl methacrylate copolymer and N-vinylpyrrolidone or cellulose diacetate in acetone is used as a polymer solution. . Example. 1 g of KAD-iodine activated carbon is poured with continuous stirring with 1 ml of a 50% aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide. Then the coal is washed with water, pour in 1 ml of a 10% aqueous solution of a copolymer of methyl methacrylate and N-vinylpyrrolidone in acetone and kept in solution for 5-7 minutes. After that, the coil is washed with water until a polymer membrane is formed on the surface of the coal granules. 1 g of the treated activated carbon is placed in a reactor with a stirrer. and pour 0.1 l of a solution containing 6 mg / l of methylene chloride. The mixture is stirred for 1 h and filtered. The adsorption capacity of carbon B is 6 mg / g and the degree of purification of the solution from methylene chloride is 99.8.
