Description
98%.The invention relates to an improved process for the preparation of thioglycolic acid, which is used in the manufacture of dyes and polymeric materials. A known method for producing thioglycolic acid is that sodium chloroacetate is reacted with sodium hydrosulfide in water while hydrogen sulfide is passed through the reaction mixture at 30-35 s. The yield of 99.5% thioglycolic acid is 93% 1. Most close to the invention according to the technical essence is the method of producing thioglycolic acid, which consists in the fact that chloroacetic acid is reacted with hydrogen sulfide in an aqueous solution of alkali or ammonia at a temperature of 6140 ° C and partial hydrogen sulfide pressure of 8-22 atm. 2. The disadvantage of this method is to carry out the process in aqueous solutions, which creates the need for the extraction of the target product from the reaction mixture and subsequent purification using vacuum racing as well as carrying out the process under pressure, which generally complicates the process. The aim of the invention is to simplify the process. This goal is achieved by the described method of producing thioglycolic acid, which consists in that thioglycolic acid is reacted with hydrogen sulfide at 520-620 ° C. The output of 97-98% thioglycolic acid 30-98%. A distinctive feature of the method is to conduct the process at 520-620 ° C. Example 1. In a three-neck flask with a capacity of 200 ml, equipped with a bubbler and a thermometer, load 1 wee. monochloroacetic acid, is heated to boiling () and hydrogen sulfide is passed into the mass through a bubbler (6: 1 molar ratio of hydrogen sulfide and monochloroacetic acid). Monochloroacetic acid vapors and hydrogen sulphide enter the reaction zone (quartz tube, Dv. ZO mm, L 500 mm), where the temperature is maintained at 560 ° C. The resulting thioglycolic acid is condensed in a water cooler and drains to the sink. Yield 90%, concentration 98%.
Примеры 2-8 осуществл ют в услови х примера 1, но при различ ной температуре в реакционной зоне (таблица).Examples 2-8 are carried out under the conditions of example 1, but at different temperatures in the reaction zone (table).
