Description

The calibration schedule is as follows. Solutions of the hydrocarbon are prepared with an alcohol or mixture of alcohols of concentration, for example, 0.1; 0.5; 1.0 ... 10%, etc., and mixed with a known acid solution or a mixture of acid and its salt. The acid that has been converted into alcohols is titrated with an alkali solution and a graph is drawn in the following coordinates: acid concentration in alcohol (mol / l) —concentration of alcohol or mixture of alcohols (vol% or mol / l). This relationship is a straight line, slower through the origin and tilted, depending only on the acid concentration in the initial aqueous solution.

The definition of primary aliphatic alcohols Cz-C in a mixture of saturated hydrocarbons Sat-C (spintin).

An artificially prepared mixture of alcohols and hydrocarbons (2-3 ml) is mixed for 3 minutes with 1 mol / l of a solution of nitric acid saturated with aluminum nitrate (pronyl and butyl alcohols) and 4 mol / l of nitric acid saturated with aluminum nitrate (isoamyl alcohols , heptyl). After settling for 1-2 minutes, an aliquot of the mixture of hydrocarbons (0.5-1 ml) is titrated in the presence of 10 ml of water with 0.1 mol / l sodium alkali with the indicator phenolphthalein.

1.The results of the analysis are presented in table. one.

Example 2. In Example 1, the concentration of Cz-Ci2 alcohols in a mixture of saturated Cs-Cie hydrocarbons is determined. The starting mixture is mixed with 9 mol / l of nitric acid.

Thus, the proposed method has a high accuracy in the determination of alcohols (the error of a single determination is mainly 5–10%), rapidity (the analysis time is no more than 10 minutes), does not require complicated instruments, and uses cheap and affordable reagents.
