Description
The subject of the invention is a phosphorescent exposure meter for measuring the intensity of light by measuring the ratio of the intensities of the two parts of the phosphorescent screen observed immediately after turning off the measured light. One part of the screen is covered with a neutral gray filter on the side of the measured light, and the second part is equipped with the same filter on the opposite side of the screen.
A diagram of an exemplary embodiment of the proposed exposure meter is shown in the drawing.
The measured light through the hole in the diaphragm D falls on the phosphorescent screen R. The left half of the screen is covered by a neutral filter F, the same filter is behind the right half of the screen. Neutral photometric wedge X- is located behind the left half of the screen. When the diaphragm D is moved to the right, excitation light is turned on and the ocular L opens, through which the observer sees two phosphorescent fields on screen I. Klin K K aligns the floor to equal brightness.
The nonlinear relationship between the intensity of the incident light and the brightness of the phosphorescent screens leads to the fact that at different intensities of the exciting light, the ratio of the intensities of the screen fields is different. By comparing the device with the reference exposure meter, you can calibrate the wedge in the appropriate units. Phosphorus for the screen is selected depending on the operating conditions.
Due to the non-linearity of the decay law of the luminescence of the phosphorescent screen, the described instrument can measure the light intensity by measuring the time from the moment the measured light is turned off until the equalization of the halves of both halves of the screen. In this case there is no photometric wedge in the device.
