Предлагаемый способ определени  гибкости (жесткости) тростей смычков (скрипичных, альтовых, виолончельных и контрабасовых) состоит в том, что на трость вместо волоса нат гивают гибкое тело с динамометром, и полученное усилие сравнивают с усилием, известным но эталонной трости, при одинаковых стрелах прогиба тростей.The proposed method for determining the flexibility (stiffness) of bows (violin, alto, cello and double bass) is made by applying a flexible body with a dynamometer to a cane instead of a hair, and the force obtained is compared with an effort known but a reference cane with identical deflection arrows reeds.

Предлагаемый способ заключаетс  в следующем. Берут смычок, который желают считать эталонным, устанавливают на нем описанное выше устройство и нат гивают винтом 9 гибкое тело 3 до достижени  определ емой на глаз какой-то стрелы прогиба в точке, равной половине длины гибкого тела (см.
