Измерительный фланец состоит из дискообразных тел, которые могут быть включены между фланцами трубопровода без существенного переустройства их или могут быть из ты с целью прочистки или замены новыми. Вызываема  в этих фланцах, содержащих сужение трубопровода , разность давлений находитс  в закономерном соотношении со скоростью протекающего вещества и тем самым служит мерилом дл  количества протекающего в единицу времени вещества.
