Description
A method of producing tri- and tetracarboxylic acids and their esters based on malonic ester is known. In order to expand the raw material base, a new method is proposed for the preparation of methyl esters of tri- and tetracarboxylic acids. It consists of the following. Methyl. Esters of hexahydrobenzoic or hexahydrophthalic acids are accordingly subjected to oxidation with oxygen at temperatures above 100 ° C in the presence of copper and chromium iaftenates. Then, by extraction with petroleum ether, the desired product is isolated. The yield of methanetricarboxylic acid methyl ester is 44.2%, and that of methyl acid is 2-carboxyadipic ester 35.5%. Example. 500 g of hexahydrobenzoic acid methyl ester is oxidized at 110 ° C with oxygen in a column equipped with a porous glass sparger in the presence of a catalyst, which is a mixture of copper naphthenates and chromium in equal molecular weight. The oxidation is carried out up to 10% conversion (acid number 50) of the starting material into the reaction products. The resulting mixture of reaction products and the starting material (520 g) is treated with petroleum ether in a ratio of 1: 10. Products that are not soluble in ether ether (55 g), are a mixture consisting mainly of 2-carboxyadipic acid mopomethyl ester and dimethyl ether methanetricarboxylic acid. The raffinate is esterified with methyl alcohol in the presence of hydrogen chloride to give the corresponding esters. The latter are distilled on a rectification column with a residual pressure of 15 mm Hg. Art. As a result of rectification, 20.2 g of fraction are taken at 127 130 ° C and 18 g of fraction at 178-183 ° C. The first fraction, based on the molecular weight and elemental composition determinations, is a trimethyl ester of methanethricarboxylic acid, a second trimethyl ester of 2-carboxyadipic acid with a yield of 2.5 and 3.6 o / o, respectively, on the starting material. The yield of the target products on the consumed starting esters with regard to the return on the oxidation of the petroleum ether extract .1.1l ", l,. is 44.2o / o methanetricarboxylic acid ester and 35, 2-carboxyadinic acid ester. Oxidation in similar or similar conditions of hexahydro-terephthalic acid dimethyl ester results in the quality of the main products of methane-carboxylic and 2,5-11,1-carboxy-adipipic acids. The subject and concern is that, in order to expand the resource base, methyl hexahydrobenzoic or hexahydrophthalic acids, respectively, are attributed to oxidation with oxygen when heated above 100 ° C in the presence of copper and chromium pafenates with the following effect: product by extruding nfTpole ether.
