Description
The invention relates to the building materials industry and can be applied in the production of artificial aggregate - expanded clay.
A known method of making claydite from a clay-like raw material is a powder-plastic method, in which the granules are powdered with aluminum chromium powder of the petrochemical industry.
The closest to the proposed method is the manufacture of expanded clay by molding granules, processing them with a solution of salt and calcining, in which the treatment is carried out with a solution of calcium chloride to a depth of 1-2 mm.
However, expanded clay gravel obtained by this method has insufficient strength and, during heat treatment, is characterized by a narrow firing temperature range.
The purpose of the invention is to increase the strength and increase the temperature range of calcined clay.
Aluminum oxychloride А1 (ОН) 2, бС1о, is a product of the processing of wastes from the production of aluminum chloride, which have undergone general hydrolysis.
The method of manufacturing expanded clay is carried out as follows.
The raw mix consisting of 65% argillite overburden of coal mining, 35% of montmorillonite-hydrous-micaceous clay and dump bauxite sludge in an amount of 5% of the mass of the main raw material is crushed to a fraction less than 0.5 mm. Then, the resulting mixture is shuttered with water, thoroughly mixed and molded raw granules. Dried to a moisture content of 7-10%, the semi-finished pellet is impregnated at 80-100 ° C to a depth of 0.5-2.5 mm with aluminum oxychloride with a density of 1.22-1, 24 g / cm3 with a temperature of 20-25 ° C. The effectiveness of the impregnation is provided

By the fact that aluminum oxychloride, cooled preheated after drying, prefabricates, helps to create a veto of the pores of the dilution and accelerated penetration of the impregnating solution into the surface layers of the granule. Saturation of the semi-finished product crust with an aluminum-containing component enhances its refractoriness, increases the strength and temperature range of the calcined clay, and also prevents agglomeration of the granules and their adhesion to the lining of the firing equipment. Next, the treated granules are sent for heat treatment at 200 ° C and calcined at 1200 ° C.
Characteristics of expanded clay are presented in the table.
The bulk density of the expanded clay obtained by the proposed method is 320-380 kg / m3, the peeling strength is 4.3-4.8 MPa, the firing temperature range is 90-110 ° C.
The use of the proposed method of manufacturing expanded clay provides the following advantages:
повышение прочности керамзитового грави и увеличение температурного интервала обжига;increasing the strength of expanded clay gravel and increasing the temperature range of firing;
насыщение корочки полуфабриката алюминийсодержащим компонентом способствует повышению ее огнеупорности, преп тствует агломерации гранул и их прилипанию к футеровке обжигового оборудовани .saturation of the crust of the semi-finished product with an aluminum-containing component enhances its refractoriness, prevents agglomeration of the granules and their adhesion to the lining of the firing equipment.
In addition, the difference between the temperature of the semi-finished product and aluminum oxychloride ensures the effectiveness of the impregnation of the surface area of the granules.
