Description
The invention relates to chemical technology and can be used in the preparation of raw materials for the manufacture of optical glasses from amorphous silica.
The purpose of the invention is to obtain a product in the form of transparent granules of uniform particle size distribution.
1:4.A mixture of amophic and crystalline silica, taken in a volume ratio from 1: 2.5 to 1: 4, is subjected to high-temperature heating to 1200-300 ° C.
100%.Example. Take 300 ml of quartz grain (crystalline silica) with a size of + 0.25-0.5 mm and mix it with 100 ml of silica gel (amorphous silica) with a grain size of + 0.1-0.2 mm. The mechanical mixture at a volume ratio of 13 components is heated to 1300 ° C. Stand at this temperature for 7 hours, cool and dissipate in size. A granulated product is obtained with a granule size of 0.1-0.2 mm and a yield of the final product of 100%.
The effect of the volume ratio of the initial components and the heating temperature on the production of transparent granules of uniform particle size distribution, in particular 0.1-0.2 mm, used in the manufacture of optical glasses is shown in the table. It shows the comparative results of the prototype
If the volume ratio between amorphous and crystalline silica is less than 1: 2.5, this will cause the individual silica gel to stick together and, as a result, to a large scatter of granule sizes.
Excess of ratio more than 1: 4 and temperature more than 1300 ° С is inexpedient, since leads to an unjustified decrease in the volumetric productivity of the apparatus and does not affect the purity and uniformity of the particle size distribution of the final product.
A decrease in the treatment temperature will lead to a decrease in the quality of the product due to the appearance of turbid granules.

The table shows the data on granulation of silica gel under various conditions of granulation.
The proposed method of treating silica gel for its use as a raw material for the production of optical glasses makes it possible to increase the volumetric productivity of the apparatus, since in this case the thermostatted (heated) volume is filled with a granulating substance; improve the quality of the final product, because due to the presence of crystalline silica as a separator, individual granules are not sintered; to obtain pure longitudinal granules (no contamination at this technological stage),
т.к. используетс вещество-разделитель того же химического состава (нов другой фазе), что и силикагель.because a separator substance of the same chemical composition (new phase) is used as the silica gel.
