Abstract
This invention relates to methods for clarifying slurries, separating suspended particles from liquids from slurries by sedimentation, in particular ore slurries. The aim of the invention is to increase the rate of settling, increase the degree of clarification while reducing the consumption of polyacrylamide. The clarification of the pulps includes treatment with urea, subsequent flocculation with polyacrylamide and settling. Urea is introduced in the form of a 0.1% aqueous solution in an amount of 5-100 g / t. Next, the treated pulp is stirred for 0.5 minutes, a flocking agent — polyacrylamide in the form of a 0.1% aqueous solution is added and settled. The method allows to increase the rate of settling 0.98 m / h (0.80 m / h in a known method), reduce the solids content in the discharge to 0.4-0.5 g / l and increase the density of the condensed product from 43 to 47 % solid. 2 tab.
