Abstract
FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: annular cooled spacer 11 installed between joining flanges 10 of external electrode 2 and flange 15 of outlet nozzle 7 has its surface as well as surfaces of joining flanges 10 and 15 coated with heat- resistant insulating material. Spacer 11 and solenoid 1 function to confine arc within surface of external electrode and to prevent arc breakdown on surface of nozzle 7.
