Abstract
This invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to compositions of heat insulating mixtures used in casting steel into molds. The purpose of the invention — improving the quality of the ingot surface — is achieved by using a heat-insulating mixture containing, in wt.%: Ash — coal furnace carryover — 75-85; amorphous graphite 8-20; polystyrene waste 2-10. Due to the addition of expanded polystyrene to the composition of the waste mixture, polystyrene non-sintering is achieved, its pelletizing is excluded, since a considerable amount of gases loosening the mixture is released during the process of destruction of expanded polystyrene. As a result, the possibility of formation of coarse windings near the wall of the mold is reduced, the impact of ingot surface is reduced by nonmetallic inclusions, i.e. the quality of ingot surface is improved. Mixture consumption is 1.8-2.0 kg / ton of steel. 2 tabl,
Description
This invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to compositions of heat insulating mixtures used in casting steel and of a mold.
The aim of the invention is to improve the surface quality of the ingot.
To prepare the proposed heat insulating mixture, waste foam polystyrene is used, ground to a fraction of 0.5-3 0 mm.
Table 1 shows examples of the composition of the mixture according to the invention.
Table 2 presents data on the quality of the surface of the ingots manufactured using the mixture according to the invention, as well as obtained from the ingot of the roll.
Become poured in a siphon way into ingots weighing 1.1-1.2 tons. The mixture, packaged in paper bags, hung in a mold before casting.
табл.2)Upon contact of the heat insulating mixture with the liquid metal, destruction of the expanded polystyrene waste begins. Gases released in the lower layers of the mixture pass through its thickness. The mixture loosening occurs throughout the entire casting period, preventing the mixture from hardening and, consequently, the formation of coarse gaps near the wall of the mold, and on the surface, ingots of defects that cause the formation of captivity on the kagan metal (see table. 2)
Thus, the addition of polystyrene foam to the waste mixture helps to improve the surface quality of the ingots.
Mix consumption 1.8-2.0 kg / t steel.
