Description

PIsBecTHbi various devices for the continuous feeding of magnesium electrolyzers with solid underexposed carnallite. However, these devices do not provide for sufficiently effective dewatering and separation of the sludge formed during melting and after dewatering, due to its removal into the electrolyte.

The proposed chamber for the continuous feeding of magnesium electrolyzers with solid underexposed carnallite does not have these disadvantages. This is achieved by the fact that the vertical partitions of the chamber are made, on the contrary, not reaching the bottom or top of the cinder, which ensures the sequential passage of carnallite through the sections from top to bottom and bottom to top and its flow onto the electrolyte surface in the form of a stream.

FIG. Figures 1 and 2 show the described camera with a different number of sections.

4.The chamber / consists of two or three sections in the form of communicating vessels with partitions 2 and 5, respectively, not reaching the bottom or top of the chamber. The latter is open at the top and immersed in the cathode cell so that its upper edge is located above the level of the electrolysis 4.

Solid underexposed carnallite 5 is fed to the first section 6, where it is melted due to the heat transferring from the electrolyte bath to the chamber through its walls. Then the melt enters the second and subsequent sections, where it is added to the dehydration and flows down from above onto the surface of the electrolyte.

№ 151031- 2 -No. 151031-2 -

The average residence time of carnallite in the proposed chamber is quite sufficient for the after-drying and sedimentation of the sludge.

Subject invention

A chamber for feeding magnesium electrolyzers with solid, undefatable carnallite, built into the electrolyzer and provided with vertical partitions dividing it into a number of consecutive sections, characterized in that, in order to increase the efficiency of dewatering and sludge separation, the vertical partitions are made alternately not reaching the bottom or top of the camera.
