Перед измерением устройство базируют на образцовой детали при помощинеподвижного измерительного наконечника10, закрепленного на кронштейне3, измерительных наконечников 6 и 7, расположенных вдоль линии, параллельнойоси штанги 1, шарнирно связанных с отсчетными узлами 8 и 9, и полупризм 4 и 5, установленных с противоположной стороны штанги 1 по отношению к измерительным наконечникам6 и 7, Затем устройство переносятна проверяемую поверхность 11 и по показаниям отсчетных узлов 9 и 8 определяют величину отклонения шага.
