С целью более эффективного удалени  серы из жидкого чугуна предлагаетс  нродувать его природным газом в миксере, ковше или конвертере . Предлагаемый способ основан на том, что при продувке гор чего металла метан ,  вл ющийс  основным компонентом природного газа, нагреваетс  до температуры выше 600°С и разлагаетс  на углерод и водород, насыща  металлическую ванну углеродом. При этом активность серы резко возрастает и оиа переходит в щлак или улетучиваетс  в виде сероводорода и частично в виде серы.
