The aim of the invention is to simplify control by eliminating analytical calculations. The moving receiver 3 of the AE signals is moved along the controlled plane around the fixed receiver 2. Two positions of the moving receiver 3 are determined at which the signals of the AE are equal in amplitude and the difference in arrival times of the signals is zero. The intersection of the perpendiculars reconstructed from the centers of the segments connecting the fixed receiver with two movable positions determines the location of the defect that is the source of the signals .A.E. 1 il. cl

The aim of the invention is to simplify control by eliminating analytical calculations.
The drawing shows the real-position diagram of the mobile receiver 3, in which the amplitudes of the AE signals are equal, and the difference in the time of their arrival is zero. A second perpendicular is conducted to the segment connecting receivers 2 and 3, reconstructed from the middle of this segment. The location of the defect that is the source of the AE signals is determined at the point of intersection of the perpendiculars.
Thus, the proposed method of positioning the method of determining the location
