Description

There is a method of stabilizing polyamides and polyurethanes from thermo-oxidative and photochemical destruction by introducing various stabilizing inorganic additives, such as copper and its compounds. The main condition for achieving a high stabilization effect is the uniform distribution of the additive in the polymer, which is easily achieved when the stabilizer is soluble in water (during polymerization or polycondensation involving water) or in a solution (melt) of the monomer. However, in the case of using water-soluble inorganic thermal and photo stabilizers for stabilizing nylon FIBERS, the latter are partially or completely washed away when low-molecular compounds are removed from the fiber by rinsing with hot water. At the same time, the introduction of water-soluble and insoluble in the melt of s-caprolactam and ampillaries into the nylon fiber by dusting the polyamide chips does not evenly distribute the stabilizing additives and results in poor quality polymeric products.

In order to eliminate this difficulty, in accordance with the proposed method, the corresponding soluble inorganic salts are added to the monomer solution, which, upon reaction, form insoluble compounds that are heat and photo stabilizers. For example, a concentrated aqueous solution of copper acetate and then sodium phosphate are added to an aqueous solution of the monomer. In this case, the precipitated fine copper phosphate is uniformly distributed in the reaction mass when polymerization is carried out in apparatus with dies.

Аналогичным путем можно вводить в мономер не растворимые в воде гидраты окисей металлов действием щелочи или водного раствора аммиака на соответствующие водорастворимые соли.;In a similar way, water-insoluble metal oxide hydrates can be introduced into the monomer by the action of alkali or aqueous ammonia on the corresponding water-soluble salts .;
