Description

There are known methods for restoring worn parts of surfacing machines that are expensive: they became high-alloyed with many of them, with one of the components of cast iron str.

The proposed method allows the use of cast iron chips for surfacing without any additives and ensures the treatment of the weld metal with high hardness.

Cast iron chips for surfacing should be dry, clean, and free from oil and other organic impurities. The part, the surface of which will be deposited, must also be dry and cleaned and set in such a way that the surfacing can be carried out in a lower position. Surfacing is carried out by electric arc method.

Before overlaying the part, a layer of cast iron chips with a height of 20-30 mm and a width of 80-100 mm is poured. This layer is then melted by an electrode at its base, in the middle, to form a crater. Then, by means of an electrode, the molten mass is given in the crater either to the right or to the left; at the same time, uniform serpentine furrows with a comparatively smooth surface are produced.

After the paplavka, the mass becomes less than 10–15 mm and the width is 100–120 mm.

Subject invention

The method of restoring worn parts of machines by electric arc welding, characterized in that, in order to obtain a weld metal with high hardness and increase the efficiency of the recovery process, cast iron chips are used as the filler metal during the welding.
