Description
The proposed method of glazing high-voltage porcelain insulators differs from those known in that the inner and outer surfaces of the insulator are covered with two different glazes: the inner-glaze with a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and greater surface tension than the porcelain, and the outer-glaze with a large thermal expansion coefficient and lower surface tension.
The use of this method allows to increase the mechanical strength of the insulators.
When applying the proposed method for glazing large-sized insulators, working under pressure, glazes of two compositions are selected. The glazing of the inner cavity of the insulator is carried out with glaze no. 55 with a thermal expansion coefficient of 4.3 X 10, i.e., smaller than that of porcelain (4.41 X 10), and with increased surface tension. The glazing process is carried out on the basis of the principle of cobalt, ayuschy vessels.
To glaze the outer surface, brown glaze N ° 52 is used with a coefficient of thermal expansion of 4.9 X 10, that is, larger than that of porcelain, and with reduced surface tension. In this case, for glazing, the insulators are dipped into a tank filled with a glaze suspension. Both glazes are glazed simultaneously.
The increase in the mechanical strength of the insulators is ensured by the fact that, due to the coating of the inner cavity of the insulators with NO 55 glaze, subsequent heat treatment creates an internal high-strength layer. The use of glaze number 52 provides for the creation of resistant coatings on the outer surface of insulators, which usually have a complex configuration.
