I The invention relates to electrochemical production, and specifically to electrodes used in the electrolysis of acidic solutions to produce hydrogen. The purpose of the invention is to reduce hydrogen overvoltage. Example. Electrodes are prepared by pressing, followed by sintering in an atmosphere of hydrogen at 1100 ° C for 2 hours. Cathode extraction of hydrogen is carried out from 5N. sulfuric acid solution, at a current density of 0 A / cm and 20 ° C, when measuring the vapor pressure of hydrogen evolution. The composition of the electrode and the overvoltage measurement results are shown in the table. The data in the table indicate TCV that electrodes contain. 02% by weight: molybdenum disilicide 91-99J graphite 0.5-7. And boron 0.5-2, have a lower hydrogen overvoltage than the known electrodes. With increasing shsh reduction of graphite and boron in the electrode, the overpotential of hydrogen evolution becomes greater than ;; from the famous. The overpotential of hydrogen evolution increases even if either graphite or boron is added. The increase in the hydrogen and boron evolution overpotential in the hydrogen evolution reaction (hydrogen is applied on these materials by c. Overvoltage in the order of 1.2 V) overlaps the effect of increasing electrical conductivity between molybdenum disicide particles and at the electrode-solution interface.
