(54) Title: METHOD OF OLIGOMERIZATION OF OLEFINS IN (57) : The present invention relates to a method of preparing a-olefins by oligomerization of C2-C4 olefms. The method is 01 c:N carried out by oligomerization of C2-C4 olefms in the presence of a catalyst system comprising a transition metal source, an activator, ei which is an alkylaluminoxane, and a compound of formula (I), Ar 1 Ar 2 P-N(R)-PAr 3 Ar 4 [formula I], wherein Ar 1-4 are the same or 1-1 © different and are selected from substituted or unsubstituted C6-Cio aryl, R is selected from linear or branched Ci -C4 alkyl, substituted . 3 - t\" or unsubstituted C6-Cio aryl, and substituted or unsubstituted C3-Cio cycloalkyl, wherein the oligomerization is carried out in a solvent, C which is a bicyclic compound or a mixture of bicyclic compounds, preferably decalin. The claimed method provides a significant in- el crease in the activity of the catalyst during the oligomerization process and, as a consequence, a reduction in the catalyst unit consump- c tion, as well a reduction in the formation of polymer by-product.
